Anxiety and Worry
Do you find that you are constantly waking up full of worry and anxiety? Once you realize that we are all at our most vulnerable first thing in the morning and with some people last thing at night, you will gain encouragement and support from reading this post.
In the morning our thoughts can be easily intercepted because, if we do not catch them they will begin to not only determine our day ahead but also our week ahead.
So, first thing as we wake, our to-do lists and worries download quickly. This is the time to shift the internal narrative and change your thought patterns. Consider the wonderful things you would like to experience during the coming day and affirm to yourself. Take encouragement from the thought that “things have worked out for me in the past and there’s no reason to think they will not work out for me today, I look forward to a wonderful day no matter what it brings”. Try this for the coming week and be prepared for positive results!
A Few Tips below to Assist the “Mindset” in easing morning anxiety.
1. Keep a routine by retiring at the same time each night
2. Try to avoid internet and phone usage for couple of hours before bed time.
3. Get minimum of 20 minutes daily exercise you most enjoy (preferably outdoors).
3. Develop a healthy diet.
4. Try to not “sweat the small stuff” when the unexpected happens.
5. Keep connected (as much as possible) with upbeat friends or family who will encourage and support you.
6. Ensure you give yourself a break.
7. Be kind to yourself and you will get through those morning anxieties.
