Do not feel compelled to say yes to every request. You must make others aware of your “space” and although you are still there for them, it will be in your own time.
This process commands greater respect than saying yes against your best instincts. This can lead to unease and resentment. You must do what serves you best in a given situation. This can be the hardest solution in the moment but long term it is the best.
For me as a coach, I try to show my clients that it is less about trying to satisfy everybody else but more about living according to your own values.
