July 1 marks the official start of summer. I welcome summer time, it is a time to celebrate the light, the sunshine and the light that resides within. What a great thought to be able to look forward to turning off our work concerns and to relax and enjoy. However, we get to choose what we do with our off time. While we take a holiday, we can use it as an opportunity to take stock.
• What season are you in with your business or in your career?
• Do you need to consider where you would like to go on your professional journey?
• Are you ready to or do you even want to make a change?
Once you decide for change and believe that you are capable of change and development, some form of behaviour change is required.
Once you make that decision to take action, change will begin, the amount of change that will happen will depend on the amount of actions you take.
Once your plan is in place, incremental steps towards that Action Plan are all that’s necessary. If for example it’s losing weight, try drinking one extra glass of water a day for a month first, then for a year. If it’s writing a book, aim to craft one paragraph a day for the first month.
We all have a multitude of habits which are on autopilot, write down the habits that are not serving you positively and decide which ones you need to review and perhaps reboot
Many of us decide to stay at where we are despite the fact we are not getting the results we want, because we are habitual creatures and are comfortable procrastinating. Are your habits serving you positively? If not, why not outline those habits today. If you need support to design an Action Plan towards change, do not delay in contacting a life coach in your area who will take you through the steps and hold you accountable from session to follow-on session .
It’s essential you understand that you have a choice to change. The same habits or thoughts will lead to the same results which lead to the same actions and the same behaviours
When you change the inner you, the outside is also going to change. To make a commitment to do what you need to do you must persist. This is where your life coach encourages and holds you accountable for your outlined actions. You will have moments of doubt. Your new goals should scare and excite you at the same time. If you don’t feel this, you’re probably not growing as an individual.
Our mind can be likened to a machine. We just need to learn how to work the machine. When you upgrade the software in your computer, the output is going to improve. It’s the same with the mind. You can change your mind-set. However, it takes, the decision followed on by the commitment to the action steps followed on by persistence.
I love supporting people wake up one thought at a time. And speaking of thoughts, are you looking forward to that break where you can relax, enjoy and consider some great changes you would like to put in place for the second half of 2021. Start to and procrastinate no longer!
I can be contacted for a “no obligation” consultation across Ireland from west to east and all counties in between….
