November, 2021 let us pause for a moment and consider where we are right now. Despite some regrets and disappointments let us for a moment accept where we are right now. We cannot change what has happened in the past and the future is up to each one of us. Do you agree?
It is what we decide to do today that counts. Firstly though we need to establish very clearly where we want to get to or in other words our immediate goals. This may range from wanting to lose some weight by a certain date, let’s say for example by December 21. We must name it though in that we must state is it 3 lbs or preferably 1 lb each week for three weeks. It is imperative to set very small goals in order to reach the bigger goal. It must be manageable, if it is impossible or unattainable there is no point. Perhaps it is a promotion at work or if self-employed an increase in sales by 10%. No matter how big or small, name it. The more specific you can be the better.
Like when we drive our cars the Sat Nav will always tell us how long our journey will be so add a date or timeline to when you want to reach your goal or destination. Without this timeline you will end up driving around distracted, possibly even totally lost. This is where I hold my clients accountable for their small action steps from one consultation to the next.
We must always realize and accept that we cannot time travel immediately to our destination. This is where patience comes in. We must take it step by step, day by day, small action by action. I read a quote recently “A better version of you is on the other side of action”. Think about it…
